Berkeley Country Club

The original Exeter Plantation was established in 1700. Tradition is evident from the time you pass through the gates of Exeter Plantation. In 1959, this beautiful tract of land was transformed into a 9-hole golf course and Berkeley Country Club was formed. Renowned golf course architect, George Cobb completed the design of the current 18-hole Championship layout in 1967. Later that same year the original plantation house was lost in a massive fire. A “Low Country” style clubhouse was constructed in the mid-1990’s and currently hosts a pro-shop, member room, banquet hall, and the Exeter Grill and Lounge.

Berkeley Country Club has long been recognized for outstanding course conditions and its playability for all levels of golfers. In recent years, efforts have been made to update and advance the overall quality of the facility. The installation of Champion Bermuda greens in 2005 and 419 Bermuda fairways in 2008 have proven to be outstanding surface upgrades. Though big renovations such as these are complete, BCC remains focused on improving the overall golf experience.

Crowfield Golf Club

Crowfield Golf Club is an 18-hole public golf course conveniently accessible off I-26, located 19 miles from Downtown Charleston and 15 miles from the Charleston International Airport. Nestled in the City of Goose Creek, the club was built on Crowfield Plantation. The land’s original grant dates back to 1701 and was acquired by the illustrious Middleton family. The course is wrapped around the plantation’s ruins, which are visible from several holes on the back 9. The golf course is owned and operated by the City of Goose Creek with five sets of tees for all players. Crowfield Golf Club opened in 1990.

Holly Hill Country Club

Holly Hill Golf Club, established in 1957, is a nicely appointed, yet casual semi-private country club with a regulation 9-hole, par 36 golf course, a fully stocked golf pro shop, two hard surface tennis courts, an outdoor swimming pool, club house with function and meeting space, and a full service snack bar and lounge.

With tree-lined fairways and elevated greens, The Club at Pine Forest is one of the most challenging courses in the Lowcountry. The 12th hole, fittingly nicknamed “Little Augusta” is a 324 yard par 4, where the view of the green from the fairway is reminiscent of the 12th hole at Augusta National. This hole features one of the narrowest greens in the world at only seven yards wide in the center and twelve yards wide on the sides.
